Introduction / History

According to their own history, the Tennet people were part of a larger group of tribes until a dispute broke out. The dispute forced them to separate from the others.

What Are Their Lives Like?

Most Tennet people are sorghum farmers, though they grow other crops as well. They practice slash and burn agriculture which is not efficient for good crop yields. They also raise goats and sheep, hunt and fish.

Because of their habit of having cattle raids against their neighbors, the Tennet people have poor relations with others. Because of domestic unrest none of them live outside South Sudan.

What Are Their Beliefs?

Officially the Tennet people are Christian.

What Are Their Needs?

In 2022, the Tennet people received the New Testament for the first time. They need distributers and Bible teachers.
